Hands-on cobots – Rethink Robotics presents collaborative robot Sawyer with new features at Hannover Trade Fair

Visitors can try out Sawyer for themselves at Train-by Demonstration stations (Hall 17, Stand C 14)

Hannover/Boston, 17 April 2018 – Rethink Robotics, a pioneer and innovator in the development of collaborative robots (cobots) for the manufacturing industry, will present its smart cobot Sawyer at this year’s Hannover Trade Fair taking place April 23-27, 2018. New functionalities include the recently released Intera 5.2 software update, which offers customers powerful features like real-time production data visualization, easy external camera integration, and ClickSmart technology for easy changeout of end-effectors. Visitors can stop by the Rethink Robotics booth for a hands-on demonstration and train the cobot via the train-by-demonstration method.

Companies from numerous industries – including automotive, plastics, metalworking, electronics and co-packing – use Sawyer to complete tasks that cannot be automated with conventional industrial robots due to labor constraints, short product cycles or fluctuations in demand. As a fully integrated solution, Sawyer enables companies to automate production processes quickly and cost effectively, generating a quick ROI. At the Hannover Trade Fair, Rethink Robotics will also provide demonstrations of manufacturing use cases from Germany, Europe and worldwide.

“Cobots are a major topic at this year’s Hannover Trade Fair because they drastically expand automation options. With Sawyer, Rethink Robotics offers companies a smart, secure and quick-to-implement solution that allows them to automate manufacturing processes quickly and with the necessary flexibility,” says Darius Wilke, Director of European Business at Rethink Robotics.
