Recognized as One of 50 Winners Setting the Boston Scene on Fire
Boston, MA — March 27, 2013 — Rethink Robotics today announced they were named one of BostInno’s 50 on Fire winners at the inaugural awards event “like no other” on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Held at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse in the Innovation District, the event celebrated Boston’s best and brightest organizations and individuals across all industries, and recognized those setting the Boston scene on fire.
Winners were selected based on a mix of Streetwise smarts, the expertise of BostInno’s anonymous panel of judges and the outpour of grassroot support from the community. BostInno received more than 2,000 50 on Fire nominations across nine categories: Arts & Entertainment, Design, Dining & Retail, Education, Healthcare & Medicine, Marketing & Advertising, Media, Sports & Fitness, and Tech. Submissions were then narrowed down to 200 finalists, from which a private panel of industry experts determined the 50 on Fire.
“We’re thrilled to have been selected as one of BostInno’s 50 on Fire winners,” said Ann Whittaker, co-Founder and VP of Human Resources & Administration at Rethink Robotics. “When we launched our company in 2008, we envisioned bringing game-changing technologies to fruition by leveraging the most creative, capable and brightest talent from the Boston area and around the world, and it’s great to be recognized for achieving that.”
Being on fire is about being brave. It’s about pushing on the four walls of an industry, a city, a thought, until they expand to make room for an idea, a talent, a success that’s so much bigger than what was there before, and too incredible to be ignored. BostInno’s 50 on Fire finalists and winners are all doing something in their own right to change Boston for the better, and inspiring those around them to do the same.
